Behaviour
- Pupils are expected to behave with courtesy under all circumstances.
- All forms of rowdiness and misuse of property must be avoided.
- Pupils are expected to acknowledge all adult acquaintances in a courteous manner
- Pupils will stand up when staff enter the room
- Pupils will be kind and courteous to fellow pupils, obedient and respectful to the teachers
- Borrowing the belongings of other pupils, without permission is strictly forbidden.
- School work and activities including homework, must take precedence over any other activity.
- Playing cards on the school premises is prohibited.
- Cigarettes, etc., matches and cigarette lighters must not be brought to school. There must be no smoking at school or on the way to and from school. This applies to all school functions.
- Radios and recorders must not be brought to school
- Pornographic Literature or any other such media must not be brought to school
- Pupils shall be responsible to the Head-teacher for any misconduct on the school premises, and shall be liable to punishment by the Head-teacher according to the nature of the offence
Tidiness
- Pupils must not drop litter. Chewing gums must only be used during the lunch break period. It must be disposed of immediately after the bell is rung. Fruits and sweets may be eaten during breaks, but sweet wrappers, etc., must be placed in litter bins
- Pupils shall be neat and clean in person and habits. Complete school uniforms must be worn at all times
Damage of Property
- Pupils must not interfere with, or misuse books, equipment or property belonging to the school or to another pupil. Do not mark, walls furniture or books. Chalk is not to be used except on staff instruction.
- All breakages or damages to school buildings or property are to be reported immediately.
- Any property of the school including text books that may be damaged or destroyed by the pupil must be made good forthwith by the parent/guardian under penalty of suspension of the delinquent pupil.
Suspension
Pupils may be suspended for any of the following reasons:
- Persistent truancy
- Violent opposition to authority
- Continued repetition of any offence after notice
- Habitual and determined neglect of duty
- The use of profane, obscene or other improper language
- General bad conduct and bad example to the pupils of the school
- Writing any obscene or improper words on the building or any part of the school premises
- Fighting in uniform
- Defacing of building
- Damage to school property
- Absence, if continued after three notifications have been sent to the parent/guardian, unless satisfactory explanation has been given to the Head teacher
- Lateness, if repeated after three notifications have been sent to the parent/guardian
- Leave school without permission
Expulsion
Pupils adjudged as refractory by the Head-teacher in that their presence in the school is deemed injurious to the other pupils may be dismissed from the school with the approval of the Board of Governors
- For use of weapons such as knives and guns at the schools
- Sexual acts at the school
- Fighting
- Use of drugs not prescribed by a doctor such as marijuana, cocaine, cigarettes, alcohol
Other Matters
Medical Examination
Pupils are enrolled with the understanding that parents/guardians consent to their medical examination at the request of the Head-teacher and/or by the School Health Authorities at intervals as may be required.
Telephone and Mail
- Students are not called to the office for calls except in emergencies. Important messages are delivered. The office is not available to students.
- The school will not receive mail for the students at anytime.
